So there I was walking down the aisles at the Asian Groceries, when lo and behold! at the corner of my eye, a familiar 6-pack begged for attention. It sat on the shelf, squeezed between some candied plums and sesame cookies, Its pink and yellow wrapping standing out amongst the other tacky Chinese packaging colour schemes. I bit my bottom lip to stop it from quivering, and inhaled deep breaths through my nose. My mind was in fast-forward mode, flashes of childhood memories weaving in and out of every surface on the brain. From the time I pissed in my undies to the time I weilded a plastic Lion-O sword into the air - it all came crashing through. At the back of my head, a voice was urging me to buy It, getting louder each time. But my body stood there numb in the presence of It.

Suddenly everything started to spin. Dried cuttlefish and yam wafers zipped past me, instant rendang pastes and preserved bean curd bottles came crashing down, korean noodles started talking and the soy bean drinks sang in tongues. Everything was a blur and my knees started to wobble. My breathing got heavier and harder - what's wrong with the air?? No, I can't take it, it's too much, I think I'm going to black out ..........

"What the--- what's wrong with you? If you want it just get it! Gimme that, how much is it? 60 cents??? Fuck, I'll buy it for you"

And that was how I came home with a smile on face, and a 6-pack of Haw flakes.
